Hello ACT Friends and Theatre Lovers!
Tener here, writing to you as I watch the socially distanced, masked, and meticulously scheduled cast of The Book of Will, which was ready to be presented months ago in our traditional fully staged format. As you can imagine, we've made quite a few adjustments due to the pandemic, and you'll soon be able to enjoy the show via streaming online!
We're excited to announce that a single performance of The Book of Will will be recorded without a full audience and available for you to watch in late August. All of our volunteers (director, actors, and crew) involved with The Book of Will have shown the highest dedication and innovation as they safely bring this story to life. We thank each of them for their time and enthusiasm.
In other ACT ongoing news, one of the most significant challenges we've faced is how to launch our 40th season safely and amid considerable uncertainty. In the past 39 years, our wonderful community has come to Amelia Community Theatre regardless of its physical location. Through those years, our theatre's home has been borrowed, rented, renovated, and built, and you have enabled us to continue to create and participate in live theatre. This season, ACT is coming to you.
ACT will live stream Season 40!
Significant changes are underway to ensure that your experience is the high quality you expect from ACT, whether you're watching at home and in-person. As of today, we plan to offer limited, socially distanced seating in the Main Stage auditorium. In-person attendance will be determined on a show-by-show basis.
The 40th season will begin with the endearing and romantic comedy 2 Across, followed by the entertaining one-woman show Erma Bombeck: At Wits End, which brings the beloved American humorist to life. Performance dates and details will be available soon. And be on the lookout for Season 40 Memberships that will be available within the next week!
See you soon,
Tener
P.S. Stay tuned for updates regarding Acoustic Sessions!
